Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is a band that has been around for a long time. They have been together and producing awesome tunes longer than I’ve been alive. I heard that they had to cancel a concert recently due to David Gahan being sick, which totally sucks. I decided to talk a bit about these guys and how cool it is that they are still around.
Their first cd debut was in 1981. They’ve been kicking ass since, minus some breaks here and there…but hey who doesn’t need a break once in awhile!
These guys obviously rock. So many bands and people have attributed this group to being the reason where they are today and why they love music the way that they do.
The Best of Depeche Mode, Vol. 1 is a good record to listen to if you love their hits, with some not so mainstream songs splashed in. If you haven’t heard much of them, then this record is a good place to start.
You know, Depeche hasn’t just been a big influence in the alternative genre either. Many genres have bands that say they were influential to their music as well.
Marilyn Manson did a cover of “Personal Jesus” that wasn’t too shabby, as did Gravity Kills. Scott Weiland
did a cover of “But Not Tonight” that was good. “People Are People
” was a cover done by A Perfect Circle.
There were tons of other covers done by people in quite a few genres, these are just a few that were mentioned. Anyway, I hope all is well with Gahan so he can keep rocking!
