Alternative Music Moods

When people think of alternative music, they generally associate it with angry or depressing type songs.  There are endless amounts of songs for every mood you could be in.  Everyone has different tastes so it’s really up to the individual to decide what the right mood song is for them.

For instance, some people might find the song  “Shiny Happy People” by R.E.M. to be a happy song.  Others may find the song annoying.
You can find a song to fit your personal mood either based on lyrics or the song behind them.  A song could sound happy but have the most depressing lyrics or the other way around.

Some bands are pretty versatile when it comes to mood songs.  My Chemical Romance is one of those bands.  You can pop in just about any of their cds or make your own mix of their songs.  You can find a song from them for just about any mood you’re in.

I know sometimes you don’t want to have to search for a song.  It’s times like these that finding a cd, or a particular play list  for your mood, is the way to go.  There are bands that have a basic type of beat or lyric to their tunes that make them a good fit for a certain mood in general.

Fall Out Boy is a band that is pretty consistent and upbeat throughout their songs.  If you’re looking for something more punkish, maybe  The Offspring would be a good fit.

Old or new alternative, whatever your favorite flavor is, you can find a song special to you for every mood you’re in!
