Alternative Music and Me

Hello! Before I get started on a little background info on myself concerning alternative music, there is something I need to get out of the way.
The alternative genre is such a broad spectrum that basically was created for sounds that didn’t fit any other category. There are all sorts of mini groups within the term “alternative” past to present. Everyone has a different perception of what what it means to them, I will be talking about bands and songs that I believe to be a good fit.
Now I would will start out with a brief history of my “alternative appreciation,” as I like to call it. When I was a little girl, the very first song I can remember hearing is REM’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine).” I still remember how I felt listening to that song, and how from that day on alternative music would make such an impact on my life.
I, as well as many of you out there I’m sure, associate many memories and feelings I have with songs that have impacted my life. I love music from the past and enjoy finding new songs/bands to rock my world! In the future I’ll be covering all sorts of bands and topics from AFI to Nirvana
as well as anything and everything in between so stay tuned, and enjoy!

Hrm… I try to crank back the wheels of time and recall when I truly had my first alternative music experience. I cant recall the exact timeframe, but I will drop the names of some Bands that have I remember first catching my ear: The Cure, Depechemode, Violent Femmes.. Thats just a start.. I’d have to really sip on some magic syrup to dig any deeper.. and I just so happens Im all out of it! Later Chica!!
