Alternative Linkage

It is crazy how many alternative bands were formed from bits and pieces of other bands. Their former bands might have been completely successful, or complete garbage. What’s even more surprising is how different the sounds can end up being from one “remade” group to another!
Think about it, I’m sure you can think of a band or two or even a person that has been in a couple different bands or gone solo. More often than not, they end up going in a different direction because they did not have the freedom to do so before. Most of the time we expect these bands/people to have the same type of sound we knew them for before and end up being surprised when they are not.
This is what I like to refer to as linkage, where you can pretty much connect a person to different bands as well as having gone solo. I like to make mixes and compilations of alternative linkage. Pretty much if there is a singer or band member I like from one band that might have worked with another band or gone solo, it’s all goes in the mix.
One of my favorite vocalists would have to be Chris Cornell. In a band, solo, or partnering up with others, you can always tell it’s him. His voice is very unique and distinct, and he can sing in ways not many men can.
My personal mix of Chris Cornell songs is far too many to list here, but I would like to name five of my favorites.
1. Right Turn Alice in Chains with Chris Cornell
2. Can’t Change Me Chris Cornell
3. Never Named Soundgarden
4. Call Me a Dog Temple of the Dog
5. Getaway Car Audioslave
Like I said before, I have many songs I love listening to that involve Chris one way or another, this is a small list of some of my favorites from past to present.
